MANITOBA house
vancouver, bc 2002 completion
A one storey old timer was altered to a 2 storey, 2400 sq ft craftsman style bungalow home. The altered main floor houses the living, dining, family and kitchen area plus 1 powder room, while the added 2nd floor houses 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The main floor structure was totally removed and new frames were put in for both the main and second floor. Simple “stick frame” were used for most of the structure, with rafter structure for the roof to provide a cathedral ceiling. Stone dash stucco and wood trims were used on the exterior, together with the multiple sloped and truncated gable roofs for height restriction, lend some “craftsman” character to the house.
